THE TRAINING OF THE HORSES

Dressage is also the best and ultimate training to give a horse. Dressage conditions a horse easily and pleasantly in all disciplines. Dressage perfects the equestrian arts.

Carrying a rider is not a natural activity for a horse - being ridden helps the animal to find a new balance. Riding a horse is not a natural activity for man either - he must also find his balance and learn to work in unison with his mount. The goal of dressage is then, to develop an intimate and personal communication between man and animal and it is this perfect harmony and confidence between them, which promotes respect of their physical differences.

Many riders do not appreciate that it is possible to develop their competence in dressage and instruction is seldom proposed

Myriam Duvochel is a top class trainer and competitor with equestrian management experience going back to 1981. Since 2002 she has worked regularly in close collaboration with Phillipe `Limousin, coach of the French 'Junior Riders' team at Saumur, in the preparation and presentation of horses and ponies.
In 2005, she finished First in The Pays de Loire Regional Dressage competition and 9th in the National Event. One of her teams of pupils became Dressage Champions of France in 1998 and this year, one of her pupils, only 11 years old and riding a six-year old pony "Leo Lion" finished 12th in the French Young Horses Championship at Saumur.
At the same championships, one of her boarding ponies won in the 3-year old category.

So the team of the Domaine du Bois du Lattais can value your horse, appraise its potentialities, and set up with you a training program.

Simultaneously, a training can be set ups for the rider himself (see below).

TRAINING/COACHING / SOS DRESSAGE

M.D regularly trains both riders and horses to different levels from "gallop4" tohigh level competition, according with their objectives :

•  to improve
•  to solve problems of horse control (SOS dressage)
•  to win in competition

She will also undertake daily personal competition coaching.

Examples of practical applications :

1. the horse and owner receive training at home (ie in the estate).
2. the horse could come specially to the estate for training
3. Myriam could meet the owner at any chosen location. .

In addition, during competition training/coaching, she accompanies and coaches the rider at the place of competition.

'Jacobi de Kerlo', bought as a 3-year old, and trained by Myriam, has been classified during the national finals : Excellent at 4 years, Very Good at 5 years, Very Good at 6 years and the only horse classed as Elite of his generation in the Loire region finishing 6th in the overall Championships of France 2004.
